In this episode we go to Haiti via the 1932 horror cult classic White Zombie. Starring Bela Lugosi as “Murder Legendre" and set during the then-ongoing US Occupation, this was the film that introduced the Haitian zonbi to the American masses, with all the deep-seated racism and contradictions that infuse zombie movies and literature to this day.
