Real heads know the new name is an allusion to a certain American antihero. As Smedley Butler defined it: “A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many.”

Next week you’ll learn more about the changes you can expect. But I wanted to make sure my most important supporters—you—heard about the biggest change first. For now, just rest assured that you won’t have to do anything to stay on board. The things you liked about the old newsletter will be sticking around in The Racket, with a lot of cool new features and a more regular schedule. I’m excited. I think you will be too.
